It started as scientific research for Michelle Littlefair. Then came the trinkets. Then the stage act, and the burlesque shows. Now she’s ‘that crazy frog person’.

ECOLOGIST Michelle Littlefair didn’t choose to be, in her words, “that crazy frog person”. It just happened. “It was purely against my will,” she says. “No word of a lie.”

She started out as one of those kids who loves animals – all of them, not one any more than the others. She grew up on a hobby farm in Albury, and can recall only “little smatterings” of frogs throughout her childhood, like the memory of seeing their froggy bellies pressed against windowpanes.
